It wasn’t planned. I didn’t have some big “aha” moment in mind.
It just… happened.
I landed way later than expected. Flight got delayed, then delayed again. By the time we touched down, it was already past midnight.
Everyone looked tired. The kind of tired where no one wants to think anymore, just get to the hotel and crash.
I turned off airplane mode while still walking through the airport.
And yeah… I had data right away.
Didn’t think much of it at first.
But then I stepped out… and it was chaos.
People everywhere trying to book rides. Some were sitting on the floor refreshing apps. Others were walking around looking for WiFi like it might magically appear in a corner.
I overheard someone asking, “Do you have internet?” to a stranger.
That’s when it started to click.
I opened my ride app, booked a car in less than a minute, and sent a quick message to my accommodation that I was running late.
No stress. No waiting. No guessing.
While I was standing there, I noticed a small group nearby still trying to connect to the airport WiFi. It kept dropping. You could see the frustration building.
And I just thought… this used to be me.
That awkward in-between phase where you’ve arrived, but you’re not really settled yet because you’re not connected.
I didn’t skip that part of travel.
I just didn’t have to deal with it anymore.
Got into the car, checked directions on the way, even looked up a late-night food spot nearby without thinking twice.
It all felt… normal. Like I never left home, in a good way.
That’s when it really hit me.
It’s not about faster internet or cheaper data or any of that.
It’s that one moment… when things could’ve been stressful, messy, or just unnecessarily hard.
And they weren’t.
