Attending my first WordCamp at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. While I’ve been working as a WordPress builder for quite some time, this was my first time joining the community in person and it was a whole new level of insight and inspiration.
The atmosphere inside the PICC was energetic yet welcoming. I felt the strong sense of community and collaboration that WordCamp is known for. Developers, designers, content creators, and enthusiasts from all over gathered under one roof, exchanging ideas and stories about how WordPress shapes the work we do.

The sponsor booths were a fun part of the event. Packed with colorful displays, friendly faces, and, of course, plenty of freebies, stickers, and giveaways. It was a great chance to grab some cool swag and chat with companies supporting WordPress.
But the real highlight was attending the various talks and sessions throughout the day. This is where the real learning happened. I picked up some incredibly useful developer hacks – like smarter ways to use plugins, improving performance on complex sites, and tips for speeding up theme development. Each session brought fresh ideas that I’m excited to bring into my own workflow.
And of course, the most unforgettable moment: our team (Luffy & Co. Creatives) were able to take a quick photo with Matt Mullenweg himself. While we didn’t get a chance to have an in-depth conversation, just the opportunity to meet the co-founder of WordPress was surreal and a real highlight of the event.
WordCamp Asia wasn’t just an event – it was a reminder of what makes WordPress so special. I left feeling more equipped, more connected, and more excited to keep building. If you’ve never been to a WordCamp before, I highly recommend it. It’s a unique blend of learning, networking, and community that leaves a lasting impact.
